The use of stovetop stuffing results in a meatloaf that is exceptionally flavorful, and the bits of dry bread that are included in each slice create a type of little mosaic.
The meatloaf, which features a topping that is delightfully thick, sticky, and sweet, is an excellent and simple alternative for dinner that can be prepared on any day of the week.
Ingredients
- Spray for cooking
- 1 and a half pounds of ground beef with an 80/20 ratio
- 1 package of chicken stuffing (such as Stovetop) that is six ounces in size
- Water, half a cup
- a single huge egg
- One and a half tablespoons of kosher salt
- One teaspoon of seasoning for chicken
- One cup of ketchup, partitioned
- 2 teaspoons of sugar that is light brown
Directions
Step 1
Accumulate all of the components. Pre-heat the oven to 175 degrees Celsius (350 degrees Fahrenheit). A double layer of aluminum foil should be used to line a loaf pan of 8 inches by 4 inches, with a three-inch overhang on the long edges of the pan. Prepare a baking sheet by spraying it with cooking spray and placing it on the sheet.
Step 2
Make sure not to overmix the meat, stuffing mix, water, egg, salt, poultry spice, and half a cup of ketchup in a big basin. Use your hands to mix all of the ingredients together until they are equally incorporated.
Step 3
Apply pressure to the loaf pan that has been prepared on the baking sheet.
Step 4
For approximately thirty-five minutes, bake in an oven that has been warmed until the top is browned and the sides are bubbling.
Step 5
The brown sugar and the remaining half cup of ketchup should be mixed together in a separate basin and whisked until smooth while the meatloaf is baking. Once the meatloaf has been removed from the oven, distribute the ketchup mixture over the top in a uniform layer.
Step 6
After returning to the oven, continue baking the meatloaf at 350 degrees Fahrenheit (175 degrees Celsius) for ten to fifteen minutes, or until an instant-read thermometer inserted into the thickest area of the meatloaf reads 160 degrees Fahrenheit (71 degrees Celsius). After removing from the oven, let it rest for a period of five minutes.
Step 7
Transfer the meatloaf to a chopping board after removing it from the loaf pan using the overhanging sides of the foil as grips. Cut into eight equal pieces.
