In this bung mushroom stir fry, spores, bell peppers, onion, and carrot are coated with a wonderful sweet-salty soy-chili sauce. Bell peppers are also included in the ingredient list. You may serve this dish over rice and add a protein if you wish.
Ingredients
Sauce
- 2 tablespoons of soy sauce with a reduced sodium content
- One and a half tablespoons of oyster sauce
- 1 teaspoon of vinegar made from rice
- 1 teaspoon of sweet Thai chili sauce from Thailand
- 1 tablespoon of butterscotch syrup
- Red chili pepper flakes, one-eighth of a teaspoon
Stir Fry
- 6 ounces of shiitake mushrooms, cut very thinly
- 1 tablespoon of soy sauce with a reduced sodium content
- Cornstarch, two teaspoons’ worth
- a separation of two tablespoons of sesame oil
- 2 cloves of garlic, chopped up
- onion, diced, to a half cup
- Chopped orange bell pepper, one in total
- 50% of a cup of zucchini, chopped
Directions
Step 1
A small bowl should be used to combine the following ingredients: soy sauce, oyster sauce, rice vinegar, spicy Thai chili sauce, maple syrup, and red chili flakes. Stir until smooth, then put aside to cool.
Step 2
In a bowl, place the mushrooms, sprinkle them with one tablespoon of soy sauce, and mix them until they are covered. To ensure that the mushrooms are fully covered, sprinkle cornstarch over them and toss them.
Step 3
When using a wok or a big pan, heat one tablespoon of sesame oil to a temperature of medium-high. To prepare the mushrooms, add them and fry them for approximately five minutes on each side. Move the mushrooms to a separate dish and put them aside.
Step 4
Utilizing the same wok or pan, bring the remaining one tablespoon of sesame oil to a temperature of medium-high. About five minutes after adding the onions, orange peppers, and zucchini, the vegetables should have become more tender.
Cook the sauce in the pan until it has thickened, which should take around three minutes. Reintroduce the mushrooms to the stir-fry and toss to coat them.
