McDonald's Chicken Big Mac Officially Hits Menus This Week

McDonald’s famous Big Mac consists of two all-beef patties, special sauce, pickles, shredded lettuce, chopped onion, and a slice of American cheese on a sesame seed bun. The components of the Big Mac are nearly as iconic as the fast-food restaurant itself. By the following week, McDonald’s will be introducing an interesting new take on the well-known sandwich. However, this version of the sandwich will replace the beef with another popular protein.

The Chicken Big Mac will be officially available for purchase at selected McDonald’s restaurants across the United States on October 10, according to a press statement issued by the firm earlier this week. This unusual McDonald’s dish, which is comprised of chicken patties that have been fried with tempura and are crispy, has previously made brief appearances on menus in other countries, including the United Kingdom and Canada but is now unavailable in those countries.

Nevertheless, with the exception of a limited trial run at a few McDonald’s restaurants in Miami in 2022, this is the very first time that the business has made the sandwich available to its consumers in the United States.

During the summer of 2024, McDonald’s CEO Chris Kempczinski made a statement on TikTok stating that the Chicken Big Mac sandwich was “coming back to make a reappearance.” This statement sparked the beginning of the buzz around the forthcoming introduction of the Chicken Big Mac. Fans were given yet another indication that the sandwich might be made available in the United States during a dining experience that was held this past weekend at a culinary festival that was organized by the gourmet restaurant chain Chain.

During the occasion, a mystery pop-up diner known as “McDonnell’s” offered visitors a chicken sandwich that was identical to the Chicken Big Mac. In the end, it was discovered that McDonald’s was the company responsible for the eating experience. It was ultimately announced by the firm that the long-awaited sandwich will be available for purchase on October 3rd.

“We are excited to pay homage to one of our most iconic menu items, the Big Mac, and introduce it to a whole new generation of fans,” said Tariq Hassan, chief marketing and customer experience officer at McDonald’s USA, in a statement. “With the introduction of the Chicken Big Mac, we are excited to pay homage to the Big Mac.”

Once it is introduced to menus, the Chicken Big Mac will be offered for a short period, provided that supplies are still available. Customers may also anticipate the reintroduction of McDonald’s Boo Buckets late in this month. Customers can look forward to this. Since their introduction in 1968, these festive pails have been a popular seasonal item at the chain, and beginning on October 15, they will be making their comeback for a second time.

McDonald’s has introduced new monster designs for its buckets this year, and the company will be selling them in a variety of hues, including white, orange, green, and blue. There will also be themed stickers included with the limited-time Boo Buckets, which may be used for decorating.
